Telecommunications Lineman
Down Under Construction a Virginia based utility construction firm is seeking qualified
Telecommunications Lineman to join our team. Responsibilities include a variety of duties related to the
installation, operation, maintenance and repair of Telecommunications Systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Construct and maintain overhead Telecommunications Systems
 Frame poles according to design prints
 Construct strand/messenger system including all overhead guys, down guys and anchors
 Bond and ground system according to design prints
 Jig and lash cables including Fiber Optic, Copper and Coax following all design and NEC codes
 Pole transfers, plant moves/rebuilds, relocations, pole removal, emergency repairs

Requirements
 Five or more years of experience working overhead telecom construction with a proven track
record
 Ability to set-up and operate job with minimal direction
 Complete understanding of the design prints, ability to interpret the design
 Pole Climbing abilities a plus
 CDL class A, B preferred
 High school diploma or equivalent
 Ability to operate a Bucket Truck

Physical Demands/Work Environment
 Ability to lift 80 pounds
 This work is outside 100% of the time much of the time spent standing in a small platform
bucket. Weather varies and this position will work in all aspects of the environment, sun, snow,
