The Legal & Risk Manager assists the Corporate Counsel in managing claims made against the Company, including those alleging personal injury, property damage, breach of contract, and employment issues. The Legal & Risk Manager will assist in the oversight of the Company’s insurance programs and risk management policies. The Legal & Risk Manager will possess an understanding of legal issues relevant to construction contracts, including, for example, indemnity, insurance coverage, risk transfer, and liability for delays, and will manage and coordinate contract review with Corporate Counsel. The Legal & Risk Manager will also coordinate the Company’s Subcontractor Program, assist in the negotiation of relevant subcontract terms, and ensure compliance with the Company’s insurance-related and other requirements. • Complete related paperwork and access databases (work orders required to complete jobs accurately and timely.
• Maintain ability and experience to perform Federally Required DOT Annual Truck and Trailer inspections. Accurately complete required annual documentation. Education/ experience required by as defined by FMCSR 396.19
• Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Own and maintain required personal tools.
• Travel to remote locations and work overtime as needed.
• Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
• Complete all assigned Web based training as described/ required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Effectively communicate verbal and written instructions (speak, read, and comprehend in English) and information to associates, clients and management regarding vehicle recommendations, and repairs.
• Basic computer and internet knowledge required.
• Knowledge and skills to operate and understand scanning and diagnostic equipment including computerized instrumentation.
• Adhere to company policy as it relates to conduct and personal care.
• Ability to work cooperatively.
• Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
• Acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.
• Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Complete all DOT required training.
• Minimum of 6 months related experience.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, sit, and stand, for a period of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May be required to operate a forklift (appropriate certification required).
• This is a “Safety-Sensitive position” that includes tasks or duties that could affect the safety or health of the employee performing the task or others.
• Maintain clean driving record per FMCSR standards.
• Current Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) required.
